Prop Curtis P-36 Hawk WWII
This postcard features once of the most famous fighter aircrafts of World War 2, Curtis P-36 Hawk. Curtis P-36 was the predecessor of P-40 and was used by air forces of US, France, Finland, British India, UK, Brazil, Argentina, China, and Norway.
It revolutionized air battle and is still remembered by World War 2 veterans. It’s improved version P-40, is among the most produced aircrafts of all times as more than 13,000 P-40s were manufactured between 1939 and 1944 which were all quite similar to P-36.
P-36 is also known for giving US some of its first Aerial victories in Second World War in Pearl Harbor. 5 P-36s were able to take off during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and are credited with shooting down two Japanese fighter planes.
Among the postcards, this is a rare one as P-36 hasn’t been manufactured after World War 2 and this postcard allows you a glimpse of the past. It’ll be a good addition to your existing portfolio of vintage postcards.
