Indian Geronimo Chiricahua Apache War Chief Museum of New Mexico
This is a Black and White Picture of the Great Indian Chief Geronimo, he was a Chiricahua Apache Chief. Geronimo means “He who Yawns”. This photo is from Museum of New Mexico archives. Geronimo had Joined with members of three other Indian Chiricahua Apache bands—the Tchihende, the Tsokanende and the Nednhi—to carry out numerous raids as well as resistance to US and Mexican military campaigns in the northern Mexico states . Geronimo surrendered for the last time was to Lt Charles Gatewood.
